British Museum
2025
Drinkall Dean were appointed to design Ancient India: Living Traditions at the British Museum, which explores the rich spiritual and cultural landscapes of Hinduism, Jainism, and Buddhism. This innovative exhibition is one of the first to explore the early devotional art of India from a multi-faith perspective. It presents a multisensory experience, weaving together centuries of history and contemporary voices to illuminate the living practices of these faiths today.
The heart of the design concept was a spatially abstract, vibrant approach that captured the continuous thread of nature spirits—the central element linking the three religions. These spirits represent the interconnectedness of nature and community, underpinningreligious practices that have persisted for thousands of years.
